Job description

Halomine, Inc. is a highly innovative startup company focusing on developing and commercializing novel high-performance and sustainable antimicrobial materials for food processing, healthcare, and consumer markets. Our R&D team is comprised of highly talented chemists, engineers, and biologists with proven product innovation records.

We are currently looking for a full-time QC Chemist position. This position will be responsible for the analysis and inspection of products or processes for compliance with specifications and standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates detailed-oriented attention in all facets of responsibilities.
  • Performs analytical evaluation or test of products or processes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of testing methods, product usage, and applicable regulations and standards.
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures.
  • Establishes test methodology.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to others on SOPs and quality guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine analytical chemistry testing procedures, e.g. UV-vis spectroscopy, DSC, TGA, pH measurement, titration, etc.
  • Works with QC management to ensure timely performance of chemical testing procedures.
  • Informs QC management in a timely manner of any out of specifications (OOS-Out of Specification) or exceedance of Alert or Actions Levels.
  • Performs thorough investigations following required procedures.
  • Performs validation protocols and summary reports for equipment and methods.
  • Updates and revises standard operating procedures and analytical methods.
  • Handles analysis of raw materials, in-process and final product testing.
  • Analyzes, interprets, reviews, and reports data in a timely manner.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in chemical/materials sciences or equivalent; with 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Direct work experience with chemistry wet labs and analytical equipment is required.

• Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

• Excellent communication, documentation, and organization skills

Expecting starting date:

Jan 2022

Work authorization

Must have current legal status to work in the US.

Advertised Salary:

Annual base $55-65K, further negotiable depending on skills and qualifications.
