The Office of Financial Aid at New York City College of Technology, CUNY, seeks a 13.3b-track Associate Director of Financial Aid Processing & Payments. The Associate Director oversees the processing of Federal financial aid information (correcting and updating ISIRs) and record retention of documents collected from students; oversees the awarding, certification, payments, and reconciliation of Federal financial aid programs, NYC Vallone Scholarship, CUSTA, and other grants. The Associate Director works closely with the financial aid staff (advisors and program coordinators) in troubleshooting and resolving systems related problems and works closely with the Financial Aid Director in coordinating personnel and resources.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Associate Director will:
* Manage the processing of students' ISIR including corrections and verifications.
* Manage the awarding and disbursements of Federal student aid, NYC Vallone Scholarship, and CUSTA.
* Oversee the reconciliations of Federal student aid programs, NYC Vallone Scholarship, and CUSTA.
* Assist in the yearly audits for federal financial aid and other audits, and oversee record retention of financial aid files.
* Oversee the communications and checklists items (ISIR, disbursement, history, reconciliation.)
* Develop and implement procedures, reports, and queries to facilitate the processing, of ISIRs, the disbursement and reconciliation of Federal and other aid programs, and train financial aid staff in the processing, disbursement, reconciliation, and maintenance of ISIR records including verification.
* Assist in the scheduling of the financial aid yearly disbursement calendar, and the yearly review of financial aid configurations and testing.
* Represent the financial aid office at various student financial aid meetings within the college and throughout the University.
* Support the financial aid staff and the college community by acting in a consultant role with regards to student financial aid systems, processing and disbursements. Recommend financial aid systems, maintenance, record keeping, and related changes and processes.
* Reconcile various financial aid reports for the Department of Education.
* Oversee the financial aid operations in the absence of the Director, on a temporary basis as needed.
* Other responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of Federal student aid programs and regulations; excellent customer service, management, planning, and organizational skills, experience and functional knowledge with administering Federal student aid programs, and have functional knowledge of PeopleSoft (CUNYfirst) as it relates to the processing payment of financial aid.
Must be available to work evenings or weekends if needed.
