Behavioral Health Team Clinician- Buffalo Police Dept

Endeavor Health Services is looking for a Behavioral Health Team Clinician to join our growing team! EARN A SIGN ON BONUS UP TO $1,000!

The successful candidate will work with the Buffalo Police Department to provide community-based interventions, assessments, and linkage to services and crisis outreach. Must have a strong background in serious mental illness and suicide assessment skills. Will work independently within a larger team to ensure safe and effective service delivery of clinical de-escalation skills. Other responsibilities include:

• Initiate and maintain contact with therapists, case managers and other treatment providers
• Timely and accurate recordkeeping
• Facilitate safe and effective transportation of individuals to appropriate diversion sites
• Assist police response at calls involving mental health crises and/or substance abuse
• Assist in developing and participate in police department trainings
• Review calls for service and arrests to identify candidates for additional follow up
• Advocate for treatment focused approach within the local Justice Court system
• Assist with the Overdose Prevention Through Follow Up collaboration with the Erie County DOH
• Consult with concerned family members and provide education in relation to mental health and substance abuse concerns
• Develop crisis response plans to assist officers with residents who frequently utilize emergency services

Qualifications

• LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, MHC-P, LMHC and one year experience working in crisis intervention field
• Valid NYS Driver's license
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in working with a law enforcement organization preferred
• NYS Dept. of Criminal Justice Police Mental Health Instructor Certification preferred

• $1,000 bonus for full-time positions. Half paid out in first paycheck and second half after 6 months of employment. Must be actively employed at time of payout.
