Overview:

Responsible for the integrity of an assigned Auto Floor Plan credit portfolio. Work closely with Relationship Managers and Group Managers to monitor the financial and credit performance of an assigned portfolio of clients, as well as structure and price credits in order to maximize the banks return while minimizing risk.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the financial and credit performance of clients in an assigned portfolio through:
  • Tracking and review of monthly dealer financial statements and collateral position
  • Daily review audit recaps and SVR (Sold Vehicle Report)
  • Daily review of the Credit Summary
  • Daily review of Past Due Commercial Loans Report
  • Review and resolution of the month end Interest Report and Curtailment Report
  • Review and resolution of the Left Over report for New Vehicles
  • Review of year-end accountant prepared statements and/or tax returns
  • Review and monitor compliance with all credit structure covenants
  • Work with Relationship Managers and Group Managers and Senior Credit Officer to:
  • Prepare temporary increase requests as needed
  • Prepare departmental requests for interim approvals and new deals
  • Completion of scorecards for departmental requests
  • Coordinate, work as liaison with Loan Analysis and review annual renewals
  • Adjust risk ratings as necessary
  • Adjust collateral structure as necessary
  • Understand product pricing and cost structure, as well as understand and manage product risk.
  • Works closely with Relationship Managers and Group Managers to structure and price credits in order to maximize the banks return while minimizing risk.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned


Scope of Responsibilities:

Results and/or actions impact the Bank's long-term operations, revenues or profitability.

The position will primarily deal with complex credits of larger size and scope, including credits approved through Manager's, Senior, and Executive Loan Committees.



Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and coaching to junior staff .



Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years Accounting, Credit Analysis, Commercial Lending or Auto Floor Plan experience

or in lieu of a degree,

a combined minimum of 8 years higher education and work experience to include a minimum of 4 years Accounting, Credit Analysis, Commercial Lending or Auto Floor Plan experience.



Education and Experience Preferred:

Thorough knowledge of bank/PC software programs utilized by the department.

Must possess financial statement analysis skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel.

Must demonstrate principled leadership and sound business ethics.

Self-motivated, well-organized individual. Ability to work under critical time constraints.
