Consumer, Business and Digital Banking - We work with our retail banking, business banking, consumer lending, mortgage and digital banking businesses to define far reaching technology strategies to evolve our customer experiences, to make us easier to do business with and to deliver solutions that provide real value. This includes all core consumer deposit, loan and payment processing and servicing platforms; all core channel systems for retail branches, ATMs and call centers; custom built online and mobile banking platforms; and mtb.com and marketing ecosystem capabilities.

Overview:

As a site reliability engineer you will be responsible for maintaining a multi-platform environment through research, analysis, and as needed, hand-on updates. You will be expected to recommend and drive improvements through to implementation with a focus on simplicity and automation.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Leverage software engineering background in a multi-platform environment to introduce new technical capabilities to solve operational issues
• Ensure applications are available, integrated with CI/CD, have full-stack observability, and provide relevant operational/business analytics by introducing continuous improvement through code, automation, and continuous testing.
• Support responsibilities for key applications to identify/resolve systemic issues, participate in post-mortems, drive root cause analysis, and introduce strategic solutions.
• Coordinate vendor interactions and/or vendor resources as needed.
• Seek to expand knowledge and understanding of Financial Services trends, practices, and technologies on a continuous basis.
• Follow and promote use of industry and security best practices, standards, and procedures.

The successful candidate will have:

• Minimum of an Associate degree and 6 years' systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years' higher education and/or work experience

• 4 years as an SRE or similar operations/infrastructure experience
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting in a multi-tiered environment
• Strong Windows systems knowledge

Preferred qualifications:

• 2 years of build-deploy automation and configuration experience with ADO or GitLab
• Experience with Application Monitoring and Observability practices and tools
• Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Kibana
• Experience with network protocols and troubleshooting
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible
• Exposure to containers and container management systems such as OpenShift/Kubernetes
• Skills to collaborate with the entire team on feature requirements, design, and prioritization
• A team player mindset with an ability to thrive and effectively communicate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
• Development/scripting experience
• SQL experience
• Linux systems knowledge
