Overview:
Calspan's Subsonic, Transonic Wind Tunnel, is the only independently owned and operated wind tunnel in the United States. Our staff is known for its flexibility and responsiveness to our customer's needs. Customers appreciate this approach, as it enables them in real time, to refine test programs. We are looking for a Maintenace Superviosr to join our Transonic Wind Tunnel Team.

Responsibilities:
Due to the security requirements for this position, US Citizenship is required.

Supervisor maintenance of test facilities and test operations. Maintain and upgrade test facility's electrical and mechanical equipment.

Manage in alignment with our company Values. Lead with the intent to create a respectful and healthy work culture that embraces inclusion. Manage administrative responsibilities (scheduling, timekeeping, budgeting). Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding work and performance. Manage non-performing employees in accordance with company policy. Manage high potential employees to career succession and growth opportunities.

Manage and oversee test facility including repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure continuous operations.

Review maintenance and equipment performance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

Oversee personnel responsible for the wind tunnel operations and direct maintenance activities of electricians and mechanics.

Recommend and implement changes to facility and equipment that are cost effective and compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications:
Preferred Education / Experience:

Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Technical field or related discipline.

5 years+ in related discipline with minimum of 3 years in testing operations

Previous experience in management position or;

A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

Wind tunnel test standards and protocols

Facility maintenance methods and procedures

Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage abstract and concrete variables

Microsoft Office
