Overview

The Associate Planning Analyst will conduct research and analysis on market conditions, competitors and business environments and share the findings with Canon America's executive team to support key strategies. They will also manage multiple projects to support driving projects forward, specifically, managing project schedules and action items, clarifying the required next steps and providing status updates.

This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

Responsibilities

- Designs and develops solutions to advance business performance management.
- Researches, analyzes, and reports information from a variety of sources, including vendor databases, primary sources, web site sources and print.
- Evaluates sources of information for relevance, dependability, accuracy and overall cost effectiveness. Interprets the impact of events and macro trends on the industry.
- Performs industry competitor analyses that respond to the needs of the organization to produce strategic conclusions.
- Performs competitive assessments using analytical tools.
- Troubleshoots basic problems and recommends appropriate actions.
- Support M&A planning and integration processes.
- Prepare financial models including P&L, cash flow, balance sheet and valuation analysis of potential targets for acquisition.
- Research and analyze market data and strategic viability for potential acquisition opportunities.
- Support subsidiary companies strategic planning.
- Analyze macroeconomic and political trends of countries in North and South America.
- Create balanced scorecard reports with acquired and subsidiary companies.
- Perform ad hoc strategic research assignments.
- Conduct business intelligence at market, industry and company levels.
- Develop and manage strategy with business units and subsidiary companies, using the balanced scorecard methodology.
- Create content for major executive strategy meetings and workshops. Participate in major corporate level projects and initiatives.
- Researches, plans and evaluates the effectiveness of processes, systems, procedures or methodologies through review and evaluation of detailed data.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred, plus 1 to 3 years of related experience.
