Job description

Were Getir, the pioneers of super-fast delivery. We deliver groceries such as sandwiches to shampoo, dog food to beer, in an average of ten minutes. Founded in 2015, we now deliver hundreds of thousands of orders a day from more than 300 locations in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands and Turkey. In 2021, we plan to rock the streets and doorsteps of many, many more cities across the world, including the USA, spreading the experience and wonder of seamless, super-fast delivery that simply works for everyone. To make super-fast delivery possible, we dont refrain from getting involved in all the aspects that go into it. However, we like to do everything in a startup-savvy way that is driven by technology.

WE'RE ON THE HUNT FOR MEMBERS OF THE BUYING TEAM...

As we expand our operations globally, its vital that we onboard experienced Heads of Buying and Buying Managers to both keep us in check and to help us with expanding operations into new markets. We are looking for talented Heads of Buying/Buying Managers or fantastic commercial people to join our team as Buyers! Our product offering is at the heart of our customer experience. When customers open the Getir app, we want to delight and surprise them with our range and selection, whether its the everyday essentials that they need in a hurry or a lovely bottle of wine for a Friday evening. Youll be a proud member of Getir USA's founding team and will have the opportunity to influence the growth of our business from the outset.

What Youll Do

* Help implement Getirs product portfolio & buying strategy for the USA taking the unconventional route if you believe thats best for the business
* Building strong relationships with our suppliers, to ensure the best assortment (no one knows better the assortment than you)
* Work closely with Demand and Commercial to assure the right quantities to buy for each of our stores
* Be hands-on as you learn Getirs model including setting up new deals, suppliers, and lines, adjusting our customer shopping journey to optimize to our commercial KPIs and work to our speed
* Manage your own customer portfolio and lead and support other commercial projects
* Leverage existing rapport with suppliers, but also identify and develop new suppliers for Getir, across the complete spectrum of entrepreneurs like us to national and Global brands and wholesalers
* Establish an overall product portfolio that goes beyond meeting customer expectations, resulting in uncalculated customer delight
* Create, activate and maintain the product information of your categories.

* Negotiation skills that not only achieve the best-in-class product margins, but also inspire the rest of the team to continuously become better negotiators.

Requirements

* A track record as a head of buying/buying manager and relationships with an existing network of suppliers in the USA whom you can easily activate for the launch of Getir in the USA
* A track record of working in fast paced retail environments
* Ability to learn fast and adapt your strategies and tactics to the dynamic world of super-fast delivery. Super-fast delivery means sometimes doing other things super-fast
* A positive attitude - we are hugely ambitious and well only make it with positive-minded people who contribute to the success of the share team goals
