Over the past three decades, the Company has grown carefully but steadily from working on utility and highway projects to completing more complex and challenging transportation, infrastructure, deep foundation, bridge and geotechnical projects.They are in need of a Project Safety Manager for the New York City office.Description:This is an opportunity to join one of North America's most respected and fastest growing heavy highway/heavy civil construction firms. Competitive salary and benefit package offered.Responsibilities:Work with field operations to ensure compliance with the project safety and environmental program.Conduct accident/incident investigationsPrepare all Accident /Incident/Near miss reports and submit into Corporate Safety Director as well as project ownership.Be involved with and lead training and site-specific meeting requirements.Conduct hazard analysis of work operations; complete required reports and notifications.Administer safety incentive programsAdminister company drug and alcohol programConduct and participate in safety auditsCoordinate safety training activities on the projectInventory and order safety supplies and materials as neededMaintain and monitor a safety budgetOversee the managing of claims, assisting in decision making and settlement if necessaryAttend pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and other required meetingsLiaise with project stakeholdersLiaise with governing agenciesMaintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic planSupport published corporate policiesPerform additional assignments per management's directionQualifications:Minimum 5 years' experience as a heavy construction Safety ManagerNew York City Department of Buildings 40 hour Site Safety Manager CertificateMinimum OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Health CourseCPR and First Aid TrainingExcellent knowledge of applicable safety regulationsNYS DOL Asbestos Inspectors LicenseC-3 Lead certificationActive ASSE member a plusA Environmental Health and Safety degree, CSP, ASP or CHST a plusIt's almost October and it's time to apply for those last minute positions for Fall!
