Admissions Coordinator - temp position

Position Overview

Assist with the implementation of the admissions program at the private School, which results in the selection and retention of an optimum enrollment of students with the highest probability of success. This position requires strong time management and organizational skills, effective interpersonal and communication abilities and a high energy level. It is essential that the Admissions Coordinator establish and maintain collegial relationships among all constituents - students, parents, and teachers - in the Nightingale community.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are imperative. Strong organization skills and mastery of database systems and technology are extremely important.

The responsibilities listed below are not meant to entirely define the scope of the position, but should act as a guide to specific accountabilities. Responsibilities may be added at the discretion of the Director of Admissions and/or Head of School as needed.


General Office Responsibilities

  • Responsible for responding to phone calls/emails with admissions inquiries. Excellent phone and email etiquette is required.
  • Prepare and proof name tags for all Admissions events, visits, etc. and provide Security with an updated list of visitors.
  • Generate weekly interview/tour spreadsheets for Admissions staff.
  • Maintain communications/scheduling with parent tour guides
  • Maintain office calendar and tracking of all admissions events.
  • Opening mail, scanning records, attaching to online checklists as well as daily filing.
  • Create, track, and maintain student applicant files.
  • Help plan and coordinate Admissions events, both virtual and in-person
  • Assist with Kindergarten visits/assessments, including the production of all paperwork.**
  • Assist with Saturday Kindergarten visits/assessments and Middle and Upper School placement work days, including the production of all paperwork.**
  • Manage needs of MS and US students who participate in open houses.
  • Participate in weekly office meetings.
  • Assist in all data entry and maintenance
  • Exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive Admission issues.
  • Assume additional duties as assigned.
