Nearwater Capital, a rapidly growing and innovative specialty finance company headquartered in New York City with global operations and client base. Established in 2017, Nearwater has distinguished itself as a leader in delivering thoughtful, solutions-based financing to some of the largest financial institutions and financial services firms in the world. We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and self-starting Analyst or Associate to contribute to the expansion of Nearwater's Risk Retention group.

Nearwater's Risk Retention business is focused on providing asset-backed securitization sponsors (ABS, CLO, CMBS, RMBS) with financing for their retained risk retention interests in compliance with Dodd-Frank and EU/UK Securitization Regulation requirements.

Responsibilities of the Analyst/Associate will include:

  • Support Origination team in the execution of financing transactions by reviewing deal offering documents, reviewing legal documentation, and coordinating operational settlement for ABS, RMBS, CMBS and CLOs
  • Prepare marketing materials and presentations for client meetings with global investment and PE firms, managers and sponsors.
  • Build cash flow models of financing terms and structure for client review
  • Research prospective clients and maintain an up-to-date pipeline database
  • Monitor upcoming securitization market activity and any relevant market trends
  • Learn and interact with Nearwater's team members, products, and business practices
  • Participate in client dialog to support the Origination and client coverage process

Skills of the Analyst/Associate will include:

  • Finance, Economics, or Business Management are preferred major fields
  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Strong quantitative and technical abilities
  • Solid work ethic and passion to learn and grow
  • Must be a self-starter and have ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous colleagues in a fast-paced environment

Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of relevant experience in structured finance and/or securitized products with emphasis on structuring or capital raising activities.
