Position Summary

Samsung Electronics is transforming the TV landscape through its Connected TV platform, enabling consumers to engage in video content experiences like never before and allowing content providers to reach consumers directly in their living rooms. Samsung has developed a proprietary ad platform that leverages the unique first party data from the Smart TV Platform to help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and our Smart TVs.

The Business Development Manager will report into the Director of Business Development, Ad Platform Partnerships and will work both internally and with partners on critical projects to drive Samsung's Ads business forward. This individual will work as a generalist across the deal team to support the overall contracting process while also managing various types of transactions themselves. This position will also require driving business projects from beginning to end, ownership of key operational processes, and developing a well-thought-out perspective on industry trends and market opportunities.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, analytical, and solutions-focused with an ability to unravel internal complexity, navigate the organization, and come to a quick understanding of the business. The position will require excellent communication, project management, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to drive close collaboration with all areas of the business. The Business Development Manager must be a self-starter and will need be comfortable working under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment

Role and Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and execute legal agreements including, but not limited to amendments, renewals, and termination notices, while advocating for and negotiating new deal terms that might arise with partners
  • Support and execute Ads Business Development deal frameworks across the Samsung Ads ecosystem
  • Project manage complex deals by working with Leads to create deal charts and supporting practices
  • Maintain and communicate project milestones effectively and anticipate potential risks or challenges
  • Assist in an effort to achieve global deal terms with some of Samsung's key programmatic partners
  • Coordinate with supporting functions across the organization, including finance, legal, and other business units, as necessary to help drive team goals
  • Operationalize and uphold various tools and work streams (Salesforce, SharePoint, SOPs, vendor systems, etc) to drive growth and team efficiencies
  • Provide thought leadership on platform and business strategy to team members


Skills and Qualifications

  • BA/BS required
  • 4+ years of relevant experience working in a business development capacity
  • Extensive project management skills and ability to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and navigate large, global organizations
  • Analytical mindset, with ability to process data rapidly to come to right business conclusions
  • Experience with deal processes, contracting, and complex deal frameworks
  • Deep understanding of the digital media ecosystem with an emphasis on video advertising
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Passionate about technology and new media trends
  • Self-motivated, assertive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are a must
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
