Job Details The Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities (IHCD) Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering is working to address disparities in access to cancer treatment and other healthcare services at the local, national, and global levels. Using a cross-disciplinary, community-engaged approach, we identify key areas of need. We provide health education and other services to immigrants and medically underserved communities. We are looking for a Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) to join our team! The COC is an integral member of the IHCD service within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. The COC will work directly with the Mobile Health Unit (MHU) an IHCD program implemented to deliver information, education, and preventative care services to vulnerable populations. This position will ensure the presence of the MHU in target communities by coordinating outreach programming, including securing sites and issuing parking permits. You Will: Lead all aspects of the MHU calendar, coordinating MHU activities and services provided at different locations visited, participating in community events where services are providedAssist as community outreach program liaison to coordinate health partner's participation in MHU activities to expand services and outreach. Assisting with program development to improve services including proposal and protocol developmentDevelop marketing materials to improve the MHU operations and be responsible for MHU data collection and reportingPrepares outreach, service, research, and educational activity reports on a monthly basis for the program managerEstablishes relationships with counterparts within the community and religious organizations and at healthcare organizations to help to expand outreach effortsAttends training programs, modules, workshops, seminars, disease-specific meetings, and meetings to keep up to date on project objectives and new policies/procedures for conducting Community Outreach / human subjects' research, when directed by supervisorCoordinate all workshops, screenings, and other events specifically for the projectServe as the primary liaison between the Service and the organizations and community groups hosting the MHUSupervise a Community Outreach Assistant and the driver for the MHUBuild a network of potential local community groups and local businesses to assist with events and help sponsor community programsYou Are: Genuinely interested in working in health disparities through service, outreach, education, and research Exceptionally organized and an effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understandingAdept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goalsA good decision-maker, with shown success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forwardYou Have: Spanish fluency required (written and spoken)Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experienceExcellent administrative skills and digital literacy including familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or REDCapFlexibility to occasionally work on weekends as needed #LI-Post
