As Head Data Architect, your primary responsibilities will be to develop, optimize, and oversee our company's conceptual and logical data systems. You proactively engage stakeholders to understand internal and external needs, fulfilling requirements with a focus on improving data quality, accessibility and security. This may include demos, solution designs, implementation plans and proof of concepts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create domain and database design, and architecture reports for management and executive teams
Develop solutions to improve new and existing database systems
Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data
Ensure system performance via proactive design, monitoring, troubleshooting and development of new features
Maintain technical skills and knowledge of market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the technical community
Be an IT evangelist with customers, stakeholders, partners and communities
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
10+ years of success in data architecture, data warehousing and data governance
Experience with responsive data structures, ontologies, metadata capture strategy
Experience marrying a domain model to an extensive business glossary
Relationship Building
Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior stakeholders
Experience in managing technical and non-technical relationships to get consensus on solutions/projects
Ability to engage, influence and lead in a positive inspiring manner
Collaboration and Communication
Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer projects
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management, Database administrators and Data Scientists)
TOGAF or relevant enterprise architecture framework experience
Technical
Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management. Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following:
Master Data Management in operations, analytics and governance
Scalable distributed systems and databases (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Redshift, GBQ)
MS Azure
Software development practices like DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e. Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps, GitHub)
Experience supporting large-scale application portfolios in enterprise-wide environments
Familiarity with modern analytics and metadata management tools (e.g. DBT, Looker)
Continuous integration technologies, orchestration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Airflow)
One or more of the following programming languages preferred: Python, Spark Scala, pyspark, SQL
Education
Minimum 10 plus years of experience in data and information management
Undergraduate degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a quantitative discipline in engineering, science, business, or social science. Advanced degree preferred
