Overview

The Principal Auditor leads or works independently on audits of a specific business/functional area/region and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within those business areas. You will proactively develop and maintain professional consultative working relationships within their own function and with stakeholders inside and outside the Bank and respective support areas. You will use a range of approaches to collect relevant information to assess key risks, resolve major issues, or carry out tasks. The Principal Auditor works in a co-operative manner with subject matter experts and other teams from across the function and outside the function to provide 'front-to-back' audit coverage and actively contribute to the delivery of team plans in support of the functional and business strategies, working under limited supervision. You may occasionally participate in ad-hoc projects and special investigations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within the relevant business/infrastructure areas
  • Delivery of audits in support of the relevant audit plan under very limited supervision in line with methodology requirements
  • Conduct continuous audit and risk assessments, identify and assess key risks and design testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of the key controls in place to mitigate risk
  • Must proactively develop and maintain professional consultative working relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and respective support areas
  • Lead Audit teams (incl. Internal Audit Managers) for the duration of the audit
  • Act as a primary relationship manager for product/functional management locally and may represent DWS Internal Audit at committees and forums (both internally and externally)

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Use a range of approaches to collect relevant and readily available information to assess risk, resolve issues, or carry out tasks
  • Strong knowledge of the financial industry and asset management (incl. the underlying regulations)
  • Strong understanding of the Audit methodology
  • Strong technical expertise in specific areas of the value chain
