Position Summary Maximizing the value and effectiveness of the internal audit function requires an understanding of the Firm's objectives, risks, risk management priorities, regulatory environment, and the diverse needs of critical stakeholders including executive committee, senior management, the partners and employees. Ultimately, these needs determine the risk profile of the Firm and the strategic focus, organization, resources and practices required of its internal audit department. As a member of the Internal Audit Function, you will assist in areas of the Firm (offices, functions, etc.) that need help improving the quality and effectiveness of their internal control processes. The goal of IA is to advise and assist in the development of internal control and risk management methodologies, including assessing whether the internal audit function is delivering effectively to stakeholders. The Manager of Internal Audit (IA Manager) will report to and work directly with the Associate Director of Internal Audit and will be primarily responsible for planning and managing the day-to-day execution and documentation of field audits while maintaining a high level of quality over the work product produced by the Internal Audit team. In addition, the IA Manager will also lead Internal Audit review of the respective office/functional remediation efforts and will have a critical role in the development of the audit reports which are presented to local, regional and global leadership. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining a high level of quality over the audit process and for the training and evaluation of the internal audit team. Duties and Accountabilities This position will have the following key duties and responsibilities: Identification of key risk impacting an office/functional area which will underpin the audit plan; Developing and a well-organized audit plan for offices and functional areas which correlates to the identified risks; Determine staffing needs and qualifications of team members; Managing the effectiveness and efficiency of the audit process; Identifying deviations from Firm policies and procedures; Identifying opportunities to improve operations while introducing best practices; Drafting recommendations for improvement including the finding, impact and recommendation; Drafting reports that are presented to local, regional and global leadership; Participate in meetings with local, regional and global leadership; Evaluating staff performance; Coaching team to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency of individual and team performance; Ensuring compliance with outside regulations including but not limited to legal practice, anti-bribery, tax compliance, discrimination and harassment, employment classification of Firm lawyers and employees; Day-to-Day management and supervision of audits among offices and select functional groups; Collaboratively working with others across the Firm to effectively perform audits; Participating in risk management assessments on a regular basis; Possess strong critical thinking skills, readily adapting to change and close attention to detail; Seek regular feedback and embrace the culture of continual improvement; Conducting special investigations and reporting thereon as instructed by the Executive Committee, the Global Risk Management Committee and/or the General Counsel; and Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications 5+ years business and audit experience gained from a top tier professional services firm or Fortune 500 company; Demonstrated experience in assessing risk, planning audits, supervising and managing staff, evaluating internal controls design and benchmarking financial and operational processes and controls; Demonstrated experience in creating high quality deliverables for team review and have the ability to design controls evaluation and testing work plans; Considerable experience identifying and addressing stakeholder needs: building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships; communicating value propositions; managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, and preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials; Considerable experience as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback. Understanding of emerging risk management concepts and control models like COSO; Strong relationship builder, who knows how to pro-actively identify opportunities or problems, facilitates understanding and solution development; Energetic and effective communicator able to work in a team environment; and CPA, MBA and/or CIA Location and Reporting This is a Global role and can be based either in the New York, D.C. or Tampa office.
