Job description
The Product Manager/Attorney - Real Estate and Environmental is responsible for all aspects of the product and content development strategy within the Real Estate practice area and portfolio and leads a team of expert writer/editors. As a product owner, the position also serves as a the Real Estate representative expert facing partners across the organization, ensuring that all departments are prepared for successful product delivery and go-to-market decisions. We're looking for a self-motivated individual with Real Estate practice and/or legal publishing experience who can work both collaboratively and independently. Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to internal and external staff regarding the creation, collection, processing and enhancement of content.
- Manage product investment, prioritization and customer input to develop content and product plans.
- Lead and manage the activities of direct reports, contractors and legal editors.
- Contribute to go-to-market launch plans, sales and marketing support.
- Accountable for Real Estate content and product development plans. Responsible for leading and working collaboratively across cross-functional areas to deliver on product commitments on time and budget.
- Develop use cases from customer feedback to create better solutions, products and services that align with business strategy.
- Supports VPs, Directors and Senior Managers in aligning communication, people, processes and systems to ensure effective implementation and delivery of required results.
- Work with operational and development teams to ensure integrity of existing processes, influence design requirements and participate in implementing new technologies.
- Launch new enhancements and products successfully into the market, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Leverage innovation and creativity to create sustainable differentiation.
- Recruit contributors and manage external author relationships
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor required
- Minimum 5 years of legal practice experience or relevant product management or business development experience
- Subject matter expertise in Real Estate and related practice areas.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a facilitative role across multiple constituencies
- Ability to effectively communicate, interact and report results regularly to senior management
- Demonstrated knowledge of customer expectations
- Strong network and author relations; ability to sell product concepts and develop offerings
- Superior writing, analytical and communication skills with experience in drafting client newsletters/alerts, law journals, practical guidance, CLE presentations or other legal writing
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to work in a detail-oriented environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Lexis
- People management experience preferred
