Job Description: Project Description : Perforn site visits, develop site acceptance testing, and generate reports from site visits for elevators and escalators that are being installed under various
- Design review of contract drawings and associated documents for all aspects of job including but not limited to constructability, maintainability and operability. Develop test procedures to insure that all equipment meets the given specifications and performance requirements. The selected person shall represent the owner and be present at all Elevator and Escalator testing and document results. Monitor the contractor's commissioning field personnel. Attend scheduled and unscheduled meetings with designers, construction managers, contractors and end users to discuss any issues. job status, provide technical guidance and troubleshoot problems.
- Use Constructware to document progress of elevator projects.
- Prepare all necessary meeting and field visit reports.
- Provide on-site inspections of construction while work is in progress.
Education Requirement:
Qualifications Requirements : A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; orA four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in "I " above; orA four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of college education and/or experience described in "I " above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience.One year of experience credit will be given for:
- each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration;
- a Master's degree from an accredited university in one of the disciplines described in "I " above; or
- a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or Registered Landscape Architect.
Experience which is primarily of a design nature is not acceptable towards meeting the qualification requirements.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities : Experience Requirements: A minimum of 10 years of work experience is required in the following: Design of Elevator and Escalator systems and all aspects of associated controls.Field operation and troubleshooting of Elevator and Escalator systems.Familiarity with ASME Al7.1, New York State and New York City Elevator and Escalator codes.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly organized and able to work with both management and trade contractors. Special Skills/Training Requirements ;The selected cand.idate will be comfortable at construction site in close proximity to hazardous electrical and mechanical equipment. Up to date with OSHA training.
Licensing Requirements : QEl (Qualified Elevator Inspector) Certificate preferred but not requiredHours
