Senior Accountant

A single Family office is looking for a Junior Accountant to perform various operational, accounting, reporting and treasury functions. This position will report directly to the Finance Director of the Family Office and can be customized to accommodate a proper work/life balance (i.e. 4 day work week). This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who is organized and wants to contribute to the continued growth of the Family Office. While the role is remote, you will be asked to come into the office whenever the Chairman is in town (10-15 days a year).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledgers and journal entries for Corporations, Trusts, Individuals, Investment Partnerships, and Private Foundation
• Process all payments for household bills and monitor bank account balances
• Reconcile monthly bank/brokerage statements, including downloading/filing online bank statements and/or tax documents from bank websites
• Assist in cost/tax basis accounting and recording of K-1 activity
• Assist in preparation of year-end tax workpapers and supporting schedules for external tax team including 1099 reconciliation

Qualifications

• Four-year accounting degree or similar educational background
• Total accounting/operations experience at least 2-3 years
• Private Wealth Management experience a plus but not required
• Background in accounts payable and general accounting function
• Knowledge of Accounting Software (SEI Archway) preferable
• Have some family office experience
