Job description

As a Senior Investment Consultant, you will be responsible for leading consulting efforts to clients in both an advisory and OCIO capacity, while providing first class advice on a range of investment services to DB and DC pension plans. These services include: strategic setting of investment objectives, strategic asset allocation, investment management structures, manager selection, performance measurement and evaluation, investment manager monitoring, custodian selection, transition advice, statements of investment policy and global research services. You will liaise closely with clients, fund managers and other areas of the firm and take responsibility for client relationships.

Responsibilities

* Lead Investment consulting and OCIO client relationships, ensuring quality of work and timely delivery of advice and services
* Enhance the client's stated investment mission, planned implementation strategy, and execution strategy
* Maximize the intellectual capital that gets into clients' portfolios and ensure scope and fees are aligned
* Coordinate and leverage resources from specialty areas according to established processes
* Identify client needs and proactively seek out solutions
* Develop full knowledge/understanding of the key drivers for both day to day and investment committee members
* Lead and participate in new business development opportunities
* Maintain high level of visibility within team, inspire confidence and demonstrate leadership (e.g., integration, corporate social activities, lead training, facilitate knowledge transfer, succession planning)
* Provide opportunities and constructive feedback to junior associates

Requirements

* Undergraduate degree required
* Ten or more years of progressive investment experience, ideally gained in a client-service oriented environment (consulting, investment management or portfolio management)
* Solid Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit or Outsourced Chief Investment Officer client relationship experience
* Strong client focus and proven track record of attracting, building and managing client relationships
* Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to liaise with internal and external constituencies
* Experience in a client-service environment; demonstrated ability to understand the needs of a client and translate into action
* Team player comfortable in a professional services environment with the ability to effectively debate and subsequently influence internally & externally at all level
* Track record of mentoring junior colleagues to deliver high quality
* Moderate traveling required
