ABOUT THE ROLE

The Vice-President, People is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. Primary areas of responsibility include Recruitment, Talent Development, Performance Management, Organizational Culture and Employee Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, Safety and Worker's Compensation, Employee Benefits and Payroll. The VP of People provides strategic leadership by providing thought and execution leadership and by influencing action throughout the organization. This position has high accountability and reports directly to the CEO; candidates must be proven leaders and strategic thinkers, effective people managers, problem-solvers, and influencers.

* Continue to build a people culture with focus on the right person in the right role, service to the internal/external customer, and developmental programs executed for ongoing improvement.
* Develop HR strategies and tactics which effectively lead and support achievement of the overall business objectives.
* Be a strategic business partner as a member of the executive leadership team.
* Develop comprehensive strategic talent acquisition, development, and retention plans to meet current and organizational needs.
* Review and implement comprehensive and cost-effective compensation and benefit plans.
* Develop and implement programs which foster positive employee relations and engagement.
* Equip, influence, and coach business leaders to building high performing teams.
* Act as a coach and advisor to build a high-performing, customer caring team of leaders.
* Develop, implement, and administer various human resources policies, procedures and practices relating to such areas as employee relations, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, employee handbooks, communications, investigations, and safety.
* Integrate Human Resource management and technology systems for optimal information utilization and effectiveness.
* Provide support and guidance on new business, mergers, and acquisition activities.
* Ensure that Transit Wireless complies with federal and state laws and regulations, as well as organizational standards pertaining to such areas as Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Fair Labor Standards, Worker's Compensation, Insurance and Benefit plans.
* Preserve assets and information by implementing and complying with the disaster recovery, backup procedures, information security and control structures.
* Develop and implement security policies for ensuring the security and integrity of information and availability of systems.
* Ensure the confidentiality and overall security of all IT resources and sensitive company, customer, vendor, contractor, and employee information.

ABOUT YOU

* BS/BA Degree Human Resources, Social Science, Business, or related field; MSc/MA/MBA preferred
* Minimum 15 years of progressive HR Generalist experience and 5 years of experience in a director level position
* SPHR Certification or equivalent certifications preferred
* Must be a proven leader, effective people manager and influencer
* Strong Executive-level communication skills (verbal and written)
* Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; must work effectively with all levels of the organization to build trusting and effective relationships
* Experience working with a high degree of confidentiality and uncompromising ethics, discretion, and courage to expertly handle sensitive information and challenging situation
* Must possess strong business acumen with the ability to be strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented
