Job description

An IT Quality ControlTechnician role is available for an extremely busy biotechnology company. This is a long-term contract expected to last 12 months with potential to become permanent.

Pay: $19-20/hr.
Onsite: Rensselaer, NY
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm.

The QC Technician position is designed to support the QC department by providing basic laboratory and monitoring assistance to a cGMP operation. Specific duties will be tailored to the individual QC Departments (Biology, Chemistry, Raw Materials, Microbiology, Stability, Virology, Critical Reagents and Process Sciences).

Responsibilities:

  • Collects/prepares samples, aliquots, and reagents in support of testing using aseptic technique and good material handling practices as required
  • Performs data entry into Laboratory Information Management System and other quality systems to ensure compliance with standards
  • Compiles data for laboratory investigations
  • Performs/coordinates equipment, supplies, 5S organization, and maintenance; disposes of expired materials and laboratory waste
  • Conducts temperature, environmental, and/or CO2 monitoring
  • Completes laboratory documentation and reviews logbook data
  • Performs cell culture as needed
  • Performs basic raw material, media, microbial ID, and utility testing
  • Collaborates with other departments to receive/pull samples and other material
  • Submits samples for testing and performs sample disposal
  • Coordinates sample and reagent transfers/shipments, verifying integrity of received materials
  • Complies with all pertinent regulatory agency requirements and maintains inspection readiness
  • Participates in required training activities
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline preferred
  • Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries preferred
  • Strong attention-to-detail
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to organize and maintain data or information
  • Ability to learn through observation and hands on experience
