Clerio Vision is developing a suite of revolutionary products for the vision care market based on over one hundred patents exclusively licensed from the University of Rochester. The technology has applications in next generation contact lenses, the refractive surgery market, as well as intraocular lenses. The contact lens and non-invasive refractive surgery products are currently in clinical development. The company has raised over $70 million from venture capital firms and strategic partners including Safar Partners, Topmark Partners, Armory Square Ventures, and Norwest Venture Partners.

Reports to: CEO

As The CFO You Will:

• Work with the senior management team to develop a long term financial model supportive of potential initial public offering and subsequent growth.
• Interface with investors to prepare requisite internal reporting for investors' limited partners as well as attend prospective investor meetings (public and private investors).
• Interface with the board of directors for both long terms financial planning, scenario analysis and quarterly reporting.
• Support senior management team in strategic decisions including capital raising, strategic partnerships, as well as evaluating M&A and in licensing opportunities.
• Support development of strong accounting and ERP systems infrastructure to support both portfolio of existing products as well as new product launches.
• Provide strategic guidance relating to the financial impact of major company activities.
• Oversee all the month end close activities including account reconciliations.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Coordinate with the external auditors.
• Develop policies and procedures and identify process or policy improvements.
• Lead and mentor staff.

CFO Requirements for This Opportunity Include:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively more responsible financial functions including a minimum of 2 years as a Chief Financial Officer or other Senior Financial Executive with a corporation or a major accounting firm.
• Knowledge and experience in business operations and understanding of the financial drivers of business performance in a company.
• Experience with corporate governance and BOD collaboration.
• Deep knowledge of accounting and controls, revenue recognition, as well as strong financial analytic skills.
• Extensive successful, full-cycle M&A and/or IPO experience preferred.
• Knowledge of all regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Understanding of the life sciences industry is preferred.
• Entrepreneurial and adaptable. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, roll-up the sleeves, and growth-oriented culture.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a variety of constituents, including subordinates, management, and outside advisors, Growth Equity, VC Firms, Banks and the Board of Directors.
