R&D Associate, Membrane Protein Expression and Purification

Job description

Regeneron's Membrane Protein Technology group within Therapeutic Proteins is seeking a highly motivated R&D Associate to join our dynamic team that focuses on the production of multi-span membrane proteins including GPCRs for generating therapeutic antibodies at the early stage of drug development.

In this role, a typical day might include the following:

• Maintain cell cultures (insect and HEK293 cells).
• Assist small- and large-scale protein expression using bacteria, insect cells, and HEK293 cells
• Perform routine molecular cloning techniques such as construct design, plasmid purification, plasmid transfection, and BacMam virus transduction.
• Screen protein expression using fluorescence-size exclusion chromatography (f-SEC) and western blot
• Characterize the purified membrane proteins using SDS-PAGE, SEC, thermal shift assay
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date electronic lab notebook.
• Actively participate in journal clubs and group meeting.

To be considered for the role, you must have a bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or chemistry with profound knowledge in protein chemistry. Previous experience with multi-span membrane protein expression and purification is desired. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and GraphPad Prism is highly preferred.
