Job description

VelocImmune (VI) Next is an innovative technology development group that creates and uses complex mouse models and functional assays to study antibody, oligonucleotide, and cell-based therapies across various therapeutic areas in R&D. We are seeking a researcher to work in a highly collaborative research environment to support hematopoietic stem cell and other primary cell therapies, focusing on mouse model development, design and execution of functional assays on primary mouse and human cells, and advancement of potential therapeutics.
As the R&D Specialist, Immune Technologies, a typical day might include the following:
•Supporting mouse in vivo studies, including performing injections via various routes, tissue isolation and analysis, and cell enrichment.
•Adapting mouse and/or human primary cells for ex vivo culture and downstream functional assays.
•Routinely bleed mice to track efficacy of candidate therapeutics in mouse models of transplantation, tumors, and autoimmunity.
•Performing multicolor (>12 color) flow cytometry and analyzing flow cytometry data.
•Executing and analyzing molecular biology assays such as ELISA, ELISpot, immunoblotting, RT-PCR, etc.
•Maintaining an organized lab notebook, analyzing and presenting data at various internal meetings.This role might be for you if:

•You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
•You are organized, flexible, able to coordinate multiple tasks independently, and are enthusiastic to build new skills.To be considered for this opportunity, you must have MS/BS in cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, or related fields with 3+ years of mouse handling and experimental techniques. Strong experience in mouse handling and mouse experimental techniques is required. Strong skills with isolating, processing, and culturing primary cells is also required. Experience in the research of targeted therapeutics including antibodies and cell therapies and/or in development of complex mouse models of tumors and transplantation is a plus but not required. Experience in developing primary cell functional assays and designing multicolor flow cytometry panels required. A good knowledge base of immunology and familiarity with flow cytometry and other standard immunological assays is preferred. Does this sound like you?
