Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Genome Engineering Technology group to fill a position that is focused on developing innovative stem cell therapies to treat cancer and other diseases. The ideal candidates are self-driven, dynamic, face challenges with a positive attitude and have demonstrated both strong intellectual curiosity and experimental independence. Preferred candidates will have expertise in immunology, NK cell biology and transcriptomic analysis. Experience with culturing ES or iPS cells will be considered favorably.
As a Scientist within the Genome Engineering Technologies team, a typical day may include the following:
- Perform analyses of hematopoietic cells using flow cytometry, proliferation, cytokine secretion, and cytotoxicity assays.
- Participate in establishing mouse models to evaluate cytotoxicity of immune cells targeted to solid or liquid tumors
- Perform analyses of transcriptomic and other 'omic data
- Genetically engineer various cell types using nucleofection, viral transduction, etc.
- Conduct and optimize ESC/iPSC differentiation into different hematopoietic lineages
- Design and execute experiments according to established protocols.
- Maintain clear records of experimental details in a laboratory notebook.
- Communicate experimental results, conclusions and ideas directly to supervisors, project team members, and management in presentation form.

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD in immunology, cell biology, cancer biology or related field + 3 years of experience. Experienced in cell culture techniques, flow cytometry (analysis and sorting), and molecular cloning. Preferred experience developing and implementing in vivo tumor and xenograft cancer models, including immuno-oncology models. Occasional weekend and/or evening hours required.
