Job description
The Academic Market Specialist will be responsible for introducing ACTFL assessment products to prospective departments of education, school districts, and school administrators; creating a national pipeline; and closing large adoptions. This role will have national responsibility that will include close collaboration with LTI Academic Account Executives and Marketing colleagues to identify and win large adoptions of the AAPPL test and other ACTFL tests for the academic market.
The Academic Market Specialist will become the ACTFL customer-facing product expert. This role will also demonstrate technical knowledge of the product in a friendly and helpful manner, treat potential customers with the utmost respect, and follow up with them, making every effort to close the sale in a professional manner. The Academic Market Specialist will understand how to navigate client partnerships and cross-functional communication strategically and effectively.
The Academic Market Specialist will also be responsible for marketing academic products through multi-channel campaigns and professional events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales
- Facilitate and support sales initiatives to achieve sales goals across the academic markets
- Cross-train as an ACTFL assessments product expert
- Present ACTFL assessments appropriate for the academic market at school events and national and regional conferences.
- Partner with Academic Account Executives to help achieve sales goals
- Demonstrate product functionality accurately and completely, over the phone, via webinar and face-to-face where applicable
- Seek self-improvement through mentoring and coaching from senior team members
- Log all customer contacts including contact information for follow up into Salesforce
- Help prepare target account lists to support greater sales efforts
Marketing
- Responsible for product marketing for ACTFL products for the academic market including content (blogs, newsletter, webinars, etc.), email, and other marketing activities.
- Collaborate closely with Associate Director of Marketing on developing and executing the academic marketing plan to increase sales revenue
- Create and execute plans for professional conferences and trade shows and attend events as necessary
- Develop clear and accurate training and orientation resources to assist customers in understanding and using ACTFL products
- Work with cross-functional teams to create customer-facing marketing tools for on-boarding customers. Collaborate w/operations team to develop orientation and onboarding tools and materials
- Attend professional tradeshows and present ACTFL products as necessary
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2+ years of experience in a sales-driven environment
- Experience with Salesforce
- Experience as a world languages coordinator, district supervisor, state supervisor, or world languages educator highly preferred
