SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Coating Operations group works over several shifts utilizing small but highly effective teams. Leading each of those teams is a Coating Team Leader. The Coating Associate is responsible for helping the team to be successful on a daily basis in the coating lab preparing work for the coating machines and changing over coating runs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Finishing team is currently looking for a Finishing Associate for its optical filter manufacturing operations. The right person will become an integral member of the Finishing Production Team. Key success criteria for this position are customer satisfaction as measured by product quality, on-time delivery, and high productivity. Specific job responsibilities include:
* Cosmetic Inspection - Scratch / Dig
* Glass processing - core drilling, dicing, laser marking, beveling, cleaning
* Optical Assembly
* Packaging and labeling
* Physical and spectral measurement
* Order processing and shipping of the finished filters, sets and assemblies
* Other duties as assigned in various coating lab areas
* Learn various value streams in lab to be able to work on all coating equipment
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Direct experience with the handling, processing, and cleaning of optical-quality glass substrates and coatings
* Experience working with a subjective quality system, especially with optical products is a plus
* Experience in a machine shop or with operating dicing equipment is an excellent is a plus
* Comply with the Clean Room Protocol
* Use of basic mathematic principles, algebra, and geometry
* Ability to work with minimal oversight
* Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety roles and work instructions
* Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
* Occasional light lifting
* Good manual dexterity
* Excels at performing repetitive tasks
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Detail-oriented, driven towards excellence
* Excellent organizational skills
* Basic problem-solving skills
* Experience with MRP or ERP systems
* Basic computer skills, such as Microsoft office and email
* Collaborate with a variety of team members
* Must be able to work overtime as production schedules require
