Job description
CorTech Staffing is seeking a Switchboard Operator in the Asheville NC area!!!
Hours- 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Payrate: $15.00
Work Environment: Office Setting
Role Summary: Responsible for communications into and within the hospital by use of the telephone
switchboard, pagers, and public address systems. The primary focus of the job is to respond quickly and
courteously to all incoming calls and to route these calls to the proper extension and properly respond to
and follow procedures for emergency codes.
Essential Accountabilities:
1. Provides communication services, both internally and externally for the entire hospital system and
community.
Performance Criteria:
1. To achieve customer satisfaction, operators must provide an overall Service Level of
85%,meeting individual performance goals for DN Talk % of each month by operating the Xtend Attendant System to transfer incoming and outgoing calls
consistent with internal procedures and in an efficient manner as documented by Symposium
Call Reports.
2. Receive and facilitate the communication of all emergency and code calls in accordance with
hospital policy and procedure
3. Operate the public address system for identified situations per hospital policy.
4. Place long distance calls for patients and staff as required.
5. Handle patient information requests within compliance guidelines.
6. Ensure patient safety by contacting On Call Person as designated by hospital policy and
direction.

safety.
Performance Criteria:
1. Ensure adherence to policy regarding code calls by handling and documenting all code calls
in detail in designated log books and providing additional information as required.

1. To assure prompt response must handle all alarms by correct protocol.

proper response to alarms.

with departmental standards.

5. Demonstrates compliance with the HR Attendance policy (HR 5.00) and maintains an above
standard or standard level of unscheduled absences in a 12-month period.
