Job Overview
We're looking for an experienced, full-time medical office administrative assistant.
A qualified applicant must have a passion for helping and interacting with people, cope well with multitasking, consistently keep track of their own daily workload, have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. They must also be goal-oriented, highly accurate in communication and accounting tracking, and motivated.
We are growing quickly, and this role is in a fast-paced team environment. We seek candidates who can work independently but will ask for direction when necessary. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling patient accounts, building relationships when calling insurance partners, clinics, other offices and hospitals. Excellent customer facing skills a must.
Responsibilities
This position assists with other day-to-day functions of the team and provides backup support to the Billing Department as needed to ensure that processes are completed timely and accurately.
Duties may include check in/check out, referrals, billing support, insurance pre auth/precert, medical team support for patient care for various projects, and any administrative area that needs support.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience: at least 2 years in medical patient advocacy,
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Productivity Tools (Google Drive)
- Efficient and accurate keying and data entry skills
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively while completing tasks within expected deadlines
- Ability to think analytically to make decisions and prioritize daily work flow
- Self-starter who can perform duties independently
- Strong attention to detail in numbers and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to resolve problems and draw valid conclusions
- Possess strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate both written and verbally with colleagues, providers, and all levels of management
- Ability to practice customer service concepts by communicating clearly and concisely in person and on the phone
-Establish / maintain cooperative relationships with patients and third-party payers
-Familiar with HIPAA and patient privacy requirements in a medical billing office context
