Job Description:
The Treasury Policy and Advocacy team is responsible for advocating Bank of America's priorities on Treasury-related regulations (including regulatory capital, liquidity and total loss-absorbing capacity); preparing summary materials for senior management on regulatory developments, advocacy topics and potential impact; and providing internal interpretation and guidance on capital and liquidity regulations.
Within the Bank, the team partners with other Treasury teams, the lines of business and control functions on these projects. Externally, the team engages in advocacy efforts by partnering with trade associations and peer banks, and also through bilateral efforts with regulators.
The Treasury Policy and Advocacy team member is expected to be or become a subject matter expert on certain technical aspects of the Basel rules and industry regulatory initiatives. Prepare summaries and analysis of regulations
Provide policy support for capital or liquidity rules, including researching, writing and updating policy interpretations where regulation is not adequately specific for implementation
Assist to develop the firm's position and advocacy priorities, and collaborate internally and externally on advocacy efforts
Provide subject matter expertise to implementation teams and Treasury partners as they implement regulatory requirements and review business transactions
Perform research on capital or liquidity-related topics, organize rule-related information, write or edit executive summaries, talking points and other communications involving regulatory matters
Assist with news updates, publications and governance processes for the team
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or related work experience
Minimum of 2 years work experience in a financial organization (capital, risk or line of business experience preferred)
Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively
Strong business and technical writing experience
Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize
Ability to effectively work with peers as a team
Ability to learn complex topics quickly
Strong analytical skills with detail oriented focus
