The Process Engineer Summer Intern will explore the factors that affect transfection efficiency. Design and execute experiments to improve the processing conditions for adherent and suspension cell culture manufacturing processes. Students will work closely with cell culture and small-scale bioreactors. These activities will support the cGMP manufacturing operations and production of pre-clinical and clinical material.

Responsibilities

• Aseptic adherent cell culture operation
• Characterize cell growth and metabolism profile
• Assist the media prep and bioreactor setup
• Support the instrument and equipment maintenance

Qualifications

• Must be a current student pursing a bachelor's degree (rising senior or graduating senior - no other levels will be considered at this time) or enrolled in a MS or PhD program, in biochemistry, chemical engineering, or biomedical engineering.
• Must be enrolled in school the semester following the internship.
• Must be experienced with aseptic technique for cell culture.
• Strong critical thinking skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 3.00 GPA.
• Must be able to routinely lift over 40 lbs.

The level of this position will be based on the final candidate's qualifications.
