Job description

Must Haves:

  • 3+ years of related IT experience
  • Experience troubleshooting tier 1-2 incidents for computer hardware, network connections, or software installations
  • Experience with customer support
  • Experience working with PC and Mac computers
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software applications (office365, Banner, Adobe Suite, or Box)
  • Great personality

Pluses:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical field
  • Certifications (A+, net+, ITIL, MCSA etc.)

Day-to-Day:

A client of Insight Global is looking to hire 2 IT Support Technicians to work onsite in Greensboro, NC. The primary purpose of this position is to provide analytical and technical assistance to the faculty and staff, and to assist in the day-to-day operations of Campus-Wide Hardware Procurement as a member of the Hardware & Software Support team. Responsibilities and duties include the following:

  • Computer hardware repair, installation and maintenance, Network implementation, wireless connectivity, maintenance, and applications support
  • Provide technical support to the University according to established ITSM standards including initial response for all incoming purchase order requests, resolution of Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues for enterprise services and safeguarding all campus assets.
  • Provide clients with consultation via telephone from hardware recommendations to partnering with contracted vendors to ensure satisfactory resolutions that meet all University standards and needs.
  • Deploy enterprise images to campus workstations, resolution for enterprise applications and services issues, lifecycle management of hardware assets, desktop and laptop and computer peripherals delivery and setup
  • Ensuring all University accounts, services (network printing, wired and wireless network access, Canvas, email, network file space) and applications (office365, Banner, Adobe Suite, Box) are properly working in accordance to University standards.
  • Testing of new images provided by ITS-Client Computer Architecture Group along with providing feedback related to issues encountered.
  • All work progress must be tracked and updated according to ITS standards.
