Job description

Responsibilities

The Nurse Educator assists with responsibilities for educational requirements of the staff members at Brynn Marr Hospital. Provides clinical supervision and health educational information to staff and patients and works collaboratively with the Unit Nurses and Nursing Administrative Staff members. The Nurse Educator assesses the learning needs of staff, using both subjective and objective feedback and provides/plans in-services geared to meet the learning needs of the staff. Encourages professional interactions with patients via modeling, feedback and clinical supervision.

This is a salaried, exempt positon; flexible hours to deliver training to variety of shifts (days,nights,weekends).

Qualifications

Education:

BSN or equivalent from an accredited program in professional nursing is required. MSN preferred. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a psychiatric health care facility is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience is preferred.

License:

Current RN licensure in the State of North Carolina or compact state.

Certifications:

CPI Instructor, CPR Instructor, Verbal De-Escalation Trainer, and Nurse Preceptor Training within 6-months of acceptance of this position, preferred. BLS Provider current. Other relevant credentials may be accepted at the discretion of the CEO and Director of Human Resources

Physical requirements:

Medium Work - Exerting 20 - 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 - 25 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of these for light work. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
