The Position

This new role reports to the Head of Auto. The Head of Strategic Alliances and Relationship Management will lead the development and on-boarding of new retail auto finance partners and the on-going relationship management of existing dealer relationships. This role will work closely with key partners in Strategy and Product to identify new partners that align to Auto's long-term focus to improve the customer experience through digital-first end-to-end experiences. They will also partner closely with Dealer Management, Credit and Funding to optimize existing dealer relationships in the indirect channel, managing profitability and risk.



Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead 2 strategy consultants and a program manager to nurture new relationships, develop a pipeline of new strategic partners and effectively execute internal governance processes to onboard new partners.
  • Lead organization of approx. 200 retail auto relationship managers to deliver results with over 10k retail dealerships through dealer education about Wells Fargo's Retail Auto Program and providing advice and oversight for compliance and an excellent customer experience
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive support and training program to ensure employees are equipped to deliver excellent dealer and partner experiences
  • Collaborate with key partners to develop new strategies and program improvements to maintain a competitive, market-leading retail auto finance offering

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in building and leading high performing, industry-leading customer focused teams in the financial services industry. This executive will have experience leading a best in class organization leveraging highly disciplined business, financial, operations, credit and risk management processes.



Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of sales management experience
  • 10+ years of business development experience

  • Demonstrated effectiveness and collaborative partner with superlative executive presence and credibility as a result of demonstrated integrity, business management experience, sales and financial management acumen, and effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skill that is execution-focused, and results oriented
  • Experience managing in a complex, matrixed environment and comfortable leading and executing through influence
  • Ability to execute in a fast pace, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Experience building strong operating models to ensure large function can consistently deliver against administrative tasks
  • Deep expertise in strategic problem-solving and project management
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
