About the job:
The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Junior Motion Graphics Designer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating compelling content for our various technology series, live streaming assets and promotion production, audio series promotion, and other marketing materials. As part of Red Hat's in-house team, your ability to translate complex, technical concepts into compelling content for our audiences will be a key to your success. You'll need to have a variety of skills, including in 2D and 3D graphics design, illustration, text layout, and compositing, and the ability to tell stories that will capture attention and clarify ideas to push Red Hat's marketing forward. As a Junior Motion Graphics Designer, you'll also need to be able to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where people openly and respectfully share creative ideas.

What you will do:
Conceptualize projects from briefs to delivery

Visualize technical concepts, storyboard, and design for motion

Animate on your own and alongside other motion graphics designers

Work with project managers, art directors, producers, and our core team of motion designers to deliver on-brand, high-quality motion design to our customers on time

Select music and sound effects and mix audio

Deliver files for multiple channels

Meet deadlines and milestones while following all file management standards

Ensure that everything we create adheres to our Red Hat brand standards, including voice and tone as well as look and feel

Participate fully as a team member by contributing solutions for continually improving efficiency and quality of work

Learn about Red Hat's differentiated open source offerings and solutions and understand technical and business concepts

Occasionally consult with various experts and teams throughout the company, e.g., the Marketing, Engineering, or IT teams, executives, etc.

What you will bring:
1+ year(s) of experience working as a motion designer or in another associated field

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop

Strong graphic design and typography skills

Ability to handle multiple priorities, problem-solve, and maintain a positive attitude, while using constructive criticism as a vehicle for improving skills and knowledge

Ability to communicate with stakeholders and present design work in a professional and effective manner

Familiarity with 3D software is a plus

Video editing skills are a plus
