My client is a startup Manufacturing company in Durham looking for a Site Controller- Manufacturing & Biotech to report into the Corporate Controller at the Parent Company. This is a newly created position in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The company is in high growth mode and looking for the right candidate to help in their accounting department!
Description
The individual will be responsible for providing business insights to the local and corporate leaders to help measure progress on company performance and assist with enhancing companywide financial reports, including enhanced analytics, cash flow management, and consolidated reporting. The successful candidate will attract, lead, and develop a team of highly capable skilled finance professionals to support the Company's business, encourage inclusiveness, and aspire to create a great place to work.
- In partnership with the Corporate Teams, oversee the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements for both internal and external stakeholders
- Lead local month-end and quarter-end financial closes, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with US GAAP, regulations, and company policies
- Interpret and ensure compliance with all Durham related arrangements, including Customer and Partner agreements, to ensure revenue recognition and results align to all contracts and agreements
- Assist with data gathering of reporting of all local income and other tax requirements as necessary
- Advise local and corporate management of trends and changes in financial reporting requirements and recommend best approach for any changes in reporting
- Assist in overseeing the work of external auditors, valuation experts, and other professional services, as needed
- Responsible for managing the entire financial reporting process for the Durham as well as other assigned Collaborations/arrangements
- Maximize return on financial assets by establishing local financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems, in consultation with the corporate finance team
- Guide financial decisions and protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function, responsible for preparing budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and recommending plans
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and procedures
- Assist operational excellence in endeavors to improve organizational efficiency, as requested
- Assess the principal financial risks of various types faced by the company in the region and ensure that all such risks are monitored and managed.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis
- Provide financial support for the site expansion
- Support future global and local M&A activities
- Responsible for Commercial and/or Government contract review, Project Accounting and the appropriate reporting of contract revenue and costs in accordance with accounting standards
- Assists with the development of accounting systems to scale for future growth
Profile
The ideal Site Controller - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- 10+ years of financial and accounting experience with a mix of Big 4 and public company
- Manufacturing in Biopharmaceutical industry experience required
- BS/BA (or local equivalent) in Accounting or Business
- CPA (or local equivalent) preferred
- Experience with US GAAP, Internal Controls, and SOX/404 requirements
- Extensive experience with ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers
- Strong business acumen: proven ability to effectively scrutinize and challenge assumptions and interpret the strategy and priorities of the organization in financial terms
Job Offer
The Site Controller - Manufacturing & Biotech will be rewarded with the following:
- Base salary of $130,000-$160,000
