Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for partnering with business unit leaders to develop and execute on human capital objectives and priorities that align to achieving overarching business results. The Human Resources Manager will design business unit specific solutions in conjunction with the centers of excellence as well as deliver standard HR practices consistently across the organization.
Essential Functions
- Delivers legally justified solutions to the business related to all aspects of HR including but not limited to: health and safety, employee relations, union relations (where required), record retention and organization structure
- Supports approximately 300 team members per HR person
- Partners with lines of business to deliver customized recruitment solutions including; job advertisement, sourcing, selection, offer preparation and delivery
- Supports the consistent on-boarding of team members while following the standard program and business unit specific information
- Manages the delivery of annual talent management processes including; talent review, performance review, goal setting and follow up
- Partners with OED on employee engagement, competency design and projects as required
- Coaches team members at all levels in the organization
- Understands the organization design concepts and translates those into actionable plans within the business
- Builds strong relationships with all levels in the organization to understand over all business objectives and the pulse of the organization
- Acts as a positive force within the HR team to support the overall initiatives and credibility of the department within the Company
- Acts as a leader for HR team members- responsible for the overall care and development of team members including: appropriate goal setting and measurements
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- University degree in Human Resources or related field
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience reporting to a Senior Human Resource Manager
- Experience in a distribution/warehouse environment preferred
- PHR designation is preferred
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the company and make presentations to senior management
- Coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation and process development
- Provide subject matter expertise in employment/labor laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and, effective problem solving ability
- Must be self-directed and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to collaborate as needed with HR partners to develop effective resolutions for client business needs (e.g. Compensation, Training and Development, Benefits, and Employment)
- Ability to travel as required
- Other duties as required
