Job description

The Contract Attorney will have a strategic lead on developing and negotiating T&C's, NDA, Change Orders, and MSA's working hand-in-hand with the field (Market Managers as well as salespeople and leadership) on both pre and post-proposal efforts. The Contracts Attorney will also support Nesco Resources and its affiliatesfor support of any Claims, Mediation, and Litigation. Though this position reports to the VP of Corporate Counsel, this role will searve as a business partner to divisional leadership and management. This role is crucial to business profitability by ensuring margins are protected through robust contract management throughout the life cycle of a project. This position will also be empowered to evaluate and enhance processes such as developing a methodology (to include IT solution) for monitoring all lease agreements, 3 rd party contracts, Nesco MSAs, and all vendor agreements for all lines of business. The Contract Attorney needs to be able to interpret complex technical language and communicate the terms of the contracts they draft. Contract Attorneys are typically involved in matters which requires them to research business statutes and regulations.

Essential Duties

  • Discuss the proposed terms of a contract with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Draft contracts

  • Interpret terms of a contract
  • Negotiate contracts
  • Resolve disputes involving contracts
  • Turns legal redlines into customer-facing documents with commentary and priorities listed
  • Works to build and maintain beneficial partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Assists Sales with customer relationships and strategies to obtain MSAs and NDA's with new customers
  • Ensures compliance with contracting guidelines or obtains deviations when necessary
  • Mentors/Coaches on new processes and educates leadership and the field on best practices related to contract/T&C negotiaitons and Change Orders
  • Assists Leadership in the Business Unit to drive culture change in the organization
  • Provides direction/guidance in bid/no-bid meetings
  • Investiagtes and addreses items that may cause margin or legal issues on projects
  • These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
  • This position requires a Juris Doctorate as well as alicenseto practice law in the state where the candidate will work.
