Yard Driver

Job description

The Ideal candidate will have Class A driving and forklift experience to move and unload / load trailers at our Fairborn location.

Introduction:

This position has the primary responsibility is Receiving inbound product and secondly moving Trailers in the yard from Dock door to Dock door using a Semi Tractor.

Position trailers in the yard or dock door locations and then unload/load them using a stand up Forklift / Pallet Truck

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

* Coordinate with Operations Management to keep trailers smoothly moving between departments in order to keep the docks clear to efficiently receive of product safely
* Receive / Put away inbound product from trailers to rack slots by Counting, Recording Temperature, Bar Code Label, and Scan to location
* Assist Operations Management in achieving daily department goals
* Understand, embrace, and encourage the fulfillment of our Mission Statement with all associates.
* Any other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

* Valid Class "A" CDL Preferred
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Experience in the transportation industry preferred
* Forklift / RF scanner experience a must

Physical Requirements

* Physical strength and dexterity to climb in and out of Forklifts / Semi Tractors multiple times during

each shift

* Maintain a total awareness of surrounding while connecting air hoses, electric hoses, and inspecting the proper locking with the trailers for safe travel.
* Daily exposure to the noise, dust, and a wide diversity of temperatures from very

cold to very warm in the distribution center and semi tractor yard.
