Cost Accountant

Job description

Tarkett is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our successful and growing team in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. In this position you will have the opportunity to assist the Plant Controlling team in the daily operations of the department. The Cost Accountant will interface with accounting, manufacturing, and management personnel to provide accurate timely reporting and analysis of financial and operational information. Additionally, the person in this role will become versed in process improvement initiatives and by using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology. This position reports to Plant Controller with strong potential to grow and evolve within the organization.

ESSESNTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in monthly closing, forecasting and annual budgeting process (20%)
• Work with plant controller in maintaining standard cost system, including analysis of bills of material and routings for new products, cost rolls for all products, as well as periodic updates to material costs (15%)
• Work with plant controller in analysis of material price, usage, and scrap (15%)
• Responsible for direct personnel costs in the P&L and associated accounts in the Balance sheet (20%)
• Responsible for customer claims financial impacts for the plant (10%)
• Support Cost Deployment Pillar (10%)
• Audits physical inventories and cycle counts (5%)
• Other projects assigned by Controller (5%)
