Job description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the human resources responsibilities and activities, managing recruitment processes, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and training and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related matters.
  • Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures.
  • Recommend strategies to motivate employees.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment offer letters.
  • Investigate complaints brought forward by employees.
  • Coordinate employee development plans and performance management.
  • Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Manage the organization's employee database and prepare reports.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and payroll.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

Qualifications/Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years' experience in progressive HR roles.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Deep knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
  • Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
  • Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software.
  • Excellent record keeping skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and conflict management skills.
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator.
  • Must act ethically and with integrity and honesty at all times.
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
