Legal Operations Analyst (6-month assignment, w/ potential to extend)
Pay: $21/hourly
Excellent opportunity to work with a leading global conglomerate in renewable energy. The successful candidate will primarily assist with the daily administrative and operational functions of the legal eBilling and Matter Management system and processes. The person occupying this role can also expect to contribute more widely to the legal function's activities and projects including panel program administration, data analysis, innovation and working on strategic initiatives. Ideal candidate will have an exemplary customer service mindset, be self-motivated, and enjoy a team-oriented atmosphere.
Essential Responsibilities
• Support internal clients to resolve issues and/or identify solutions as it relates to eBilling/Matter Management
• Provide the necessary training to internal users of the eBilling/Matter Management system and policies
• Continually evaluate legal invoice process/procedures/policies and work on system customizations/enhancements including documentation of business requirements and testing in a UAT environment
• Assist with data analysis and assist in developing reports/dashboards for all phases of eBilling and Matter Management
• Support external counsel/billing administrators with invoicing and policy inquiries and resolution
• Assist with law firm and legal service provider panel program administration
• Assist with SOX documentation as directed
• Contribute to projects and provide support to the Director of Legal Operations in various operational tasks
Qualifications/Requirements
• 2-3 years' experience in legal eBilling and Matter Management with a law firm or corporate legal department
• Knowledge of various Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standards (LEDES) billing formats
• Strong ability to explore and analyze datasets with tools like Excel and Tableau
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with attorneys, vendors and clients
Desired Characteristics
• Experience serving as a system administrator or with the implementation/UAT for legal billing software or other legal technology
• Lean process training or six sigma certification
