The Material Analyst/ Global Buyer will have the overall responsibility for the planning and purchasing of finished goods for assigned product categories from various global/domestic suppliers. This responsibility includes the day-to-day inventory management based on past history, supplier production capacity, current demand and future forecast to maximize stock availability and minimize inventory investment.

This associate must effectively collect and communicate information and changes between; Sales, Purchasing and Senior Management. This role also includes day-to-day communication with the suppliers on shipping schedules to ensure backorders and forecasts are satisfied as required by the end use customer.
Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels on products ordered globally.
  • Provide and maintain regularly scheduled reports and evaluations of inventory and supplier performance.
  • Track and trend back orders and past due information to initiate corrective action plans as needed.
  • Initiate a monthly forecast to each global supplier to identify future demand.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment to review past usage, current demand and future forecast to determine the proper usage levels for inventory planning.
  • Quote customer delivery dates for new forecasted items, issue monthly purchase orders to domestic and global suppliers, and work with suppliers on delivery delays and manufacturing capacity limitations.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to all internal and external customers about inventory availability and other related details.
  • Work with global suppliers to maximize global manufacturing capacities assigned to Standard Textile without increasing U.S.A. inventory levels over required guidelines.
  • Initiate the request to transfer the necessary inventory to U.S.A. distribution centers in accordance to company policy related to inventory and service level requirements.
  • Participate in industry events, factory visits to continuously develop relevant product and technology expertise

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Related Field
  • Prior knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including advanced Excel and Outlook Skills
  • Knowledge of textiles and international operations preferred
