Your Opportunity

This role is responsible for delivering the right internal and external talent to meet the needs of the business of a growing ~$8B organization in support of our Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (ID&E) objectives. This role is ultimately responsible for the end-to-end hiring process (strategy to execution) for specific functional areas, including the strategy, sourcing, screening, and selection processes to fill existing and future salaried job openings across all levels. By partnering closely with business leaders, hiring managers and Organization Business Partners, this role will understand the business strategies and priorities for the functions supported and be able to confidently tell each function's unique "story." Responsible for maintaining strong, well-connected relationships with hiring managers in the business and across HR, and serving as a key, strategic talent partner and advisor to ensure Smucker is effectively, fairly, and efficiently attracting and retaining the very best talent in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisor, Consultant & Partner

* Partner with business leader(s), hiring managers and Organization Business Partners to ensure accurate understanding of business strategies for the functions supported and be able to confidently tell each function's unique "story" (including career path, organization structure)

* Lead and guide teams through the staffing and hiring process to ensure team is effectively, fairly, and efficiently attracting and retaining the very best talent in the industry and in support of our ID&E company objectives; provide training, where necessary

* Leverage recruiting strategies, methods, and systems to generate a proactive approach to sourcing a qualified and diverse talent pool; create solutions specific to needs of the business

* Lead insight efforts to drive broad perspective, objective and data driven and actionable insights to establish talent strategy

* Embrace our Company's ID&E efforts and look for ways to champion throughout the entire recruiting process

* Look for ways to maintain functional candidate pipelines, engaging with those candidates and bringing opportunities forward, as they become available; build relationships with pipeline organizations

Acquisition Expert - Hunt, Source, Interview & Hire

* Identify, source, interview and hire high-quality talent in support of company and business priorities

* Lead all "intake" / kickoff conversations with leaders and hiring managers to understand scope, build sourcing strategy / plan - internal, external, target companies, agency partnerships, as needed, etc.

* Conduct any type of insights work and offer guidance regarding job description, scope of role, ways to attract, companies to consider passively attracting talent and emerging trends in the marketplace

* Leverage a variety of talent sources to identify potential talent aligned with our ID&E Company Priorities and enhanced Talent Strategy

* Consider strategic sourcing efforts that will broaden awareness and enable a meaningful candidate talent pipeline

* Educate, coach and guide across talent acquisition process to ensure practices lead to both effective and fair results

* Create a best-in-class candidate experience ensuring all points of contact within respective scope of responsibility understand where they sit in the sourcing pipeline, and that the process feels seamless, well-connected, and well-organized

Our ideal candidate for this role MUST have:

* Demonstrated business, human resources and/or highly collaborative cross functional experience

* Experience in leading, developing and implementing recruitment strategies aimed at supporting a company, business, function, or key objective

* Deep understanding of how talent acquisition works with proven experience in candidate engagement, attraction (including passive efforts), sourcing, screening, interview, and selection experience

* Demonstrated direct talent acquisition experience building and developing effective, diverse teams

* Application of effective approaches to attraction, recruitment, selection and engagement of diverse talent

* Curiosity for and strong understanding of business strategy, with ability to link Talent Acquisition initiatives to the larger organization's objectives

* Ability to quickly develop strong working relationships where you can influence stakeholders across all levels & functions

* Strong work ethic and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment; remains focused under pressure

* Strategic mindset when approaching all tasks and opportunities to problem solve
