Essential Functions and Primary Duties
* Work closely with the Senior HR Director, managers and team members to provide Human Resources services and solutions in a proactive, timely and effective manner
* Resolve a range of internal and external requests
* Support employee engagement and a positive employee relations environment through timely and conscientious responses as well as proactive efforts; responds to employees' HR related inquiries; prepares and delivers responses
* Interfaces with payroll department for timely and accurate outcomes
* Serve as a liaison with team members and Employee Service Center/National Benefits Team to resolve benefits matters
* Conduct exit interviews, track turnover metrics and trends and communicate data and recommend actions to continuously improve employee retention
* Work closely with the Sr HR Director and the National Recruiting Office to initiate the requisition process for the assigned client groups
* Assist managers in recruitment and selection for professional and clerical positions, including writing job descriptions and in collaboration with NRO, determine the most effective advertising method
* Manage employee leave process
* Coordinate unemployment claims
* Proficiently maintain and leverage the Human Capital Management (HCM) system for accurate, compliant employee data and reporting
* Additional responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Skills
* Demonstrated knowledge of human resources functions and the applicable federal, state, and local employment laws associated with those functions
* Research and analysis skills including ability to obtain relevant data, develop creative alternatives, provide recommendations, and influence outcomes
* Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with objectivity and professionalism
* Communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to establish trust, develop relationships, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions
* Ability to work well with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes
* Ability to listen and communicate effectively through oral and written means
* Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications Required
* High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or similar area of study preferred
* 2-3 years experience in workforce in a responsible position
* PHR or SHRM-CP designation preferred
* Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing both internally and externally
* Proficient use of applicable technology
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Strong organizational skills, time management skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize
