Job description

Overview:
The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking a liaison to develop and implement actions to address identified health and welfare risks with Cuyahoga DD staff, DD provider community, and community agencies. Provide education, and training to local law enforcement, safety departments, and DD providers regarding community integration and community awareness of individuals with ID/DD. Develop ongoing strategies for incident preventions, reduction or elimination. The nature of work will include, but is not limited to the following:

Develop and maintain law enforcement relationships in Cuyahoga County.

Initiate membership in local or state law enforcement organizations and participate in community events and activities that further the Board's efforts toward community integration and individual's health and welfare.

Respond and consult with local communities, first responders and city officials to address complaints/concerns regarding individuals living in the community.

Collaborate with Cuyahoga DD departments and provider agencies regarding trends and patterns of Major Unusual Incidents (MUIs)/Unusual Incidents (UIs) and identified health and welfare risks for consumers.

Provide training and support to the provider community in MUI reporting and notification of law enforcement per MUI Rule.

Provide consultation, and support to IAs.

Review provider agency unusual incident logs and semi-annual and annual MUI reviews per MUI Rule requirements.

Serve as a member of the Cuyahoga DD MUI Stakeholder committee and compile semi-annual and annual county-wide MUI reports.

Consult with and respond to information requests by the DoDD MUI Registry Unit.

Perform the MUI Intake function and enter MUI investigation information into DODD Incident Tracking System (ITS) on an as-needed basis. Provide after business hours coverage of the MUI Hotline as needed.

Perform Waiver administration activities as they relate to the position. Document activities in a manner consistent with DODD requirements.

Other duties as assigned.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May be required to respond outside of the Cuyahoga DD normal business hours.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.

Three years' work experience conducting administrative investigations in the DD field or criminal investigations preferred.

Certification or eligibility for certification as an Investigative Agent.

Data management experience and excellent keyboard skills required.

Valid state of Ohio driver's license and continued maintenance of excellent driving record.
