Job description

Summary:

The Tax Analyst reconciles client payroll taxes in accordance with industry best practices. A primary function of this position is to maintain the quarter-end and year-end tax operations workflow, especially as it relates to the management of any client reconciliation transactions and reports, including W-2s.


Responsibilities:

  • Balancing of tax returns - reconciling payroll client liabilities to amounts deposited and posted to Federal, State and Local tax returns.
  • Coordinate with payroll and tax teams to ensure accurate and timely remittance of all Federal, State and Local payroll tax returns for over 1,000 clients.
  • Investigating tax notices then communicating with tax agencies, internal support staff and management in order to resolve issues.
  • Identify and prepare tax adjustments in multiple software platforms (Kronos Workforce Ready, Asure Evolution, MasterTax).
  • Tax compliance: stay current with changing tax regulations and communicating important changes to tax operations and payroll client support teams.
  • Must be able to work independently and prioritize a wide range of deadlines and priorities.
  • Special projects and duties to facilitate bulk tax processing and operational support as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to quickly master new software platforms.
  • Two years payroll tax experience with knowledge of Ohio local income tax.
