Job description

This role reports to the SVP, Operations, and leads the development and implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures which enable the Company to continue to grow while appropriately managing the company's people and culture. This role will manage department leaders in HR and Recruiting and strategically partner with executives and fellow senior company leaders.

You are a highly strategic and accountable leader who is versatile and capable of serving team members that support various human resource functions such as compliance, DEI, recruiting, payroll, benefits, performance management, and facilities. You are experienced in managing change and its impact on people, policies, and systems and are able to lead the team to effective implementation.

Responsibilities:

Business Partner & Senior HR/Recruiting Department Leader

  • Be a business partner of the Executive Leadership Team, implementing overall company strategy and resource planning
  • Lead all people-driven components of the company and provide expertise and guidance for people-related projects and systems
  • Direct department leadership for HR and recruiting areas of the company
  • Partner with other senior leaders to assess and optimize human capital strategies
  • Serve as owner of all HR and talent acquisition systems and technology
  • Represent your departments with company leadership, clearly communicating the opportunities and needs of your teams
  • Cascade information and objectives from company leadership back to your team, ensuring everyone is executing in alignment with the big-picture strategy
  • Develop and ensure departmental resources are maximized

Employment Law and Compliance Expert

  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all employment-related aspects of the organization with thorough knowledge in such areas as EEO, Fair Labor Standards, Wage and Hour, FMLA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Perform continuous review and audit, in partnership with the legal team, related to our people compliance practices, processes, and policies
  • Guide creation of compliant policies that further company culture and initiatives
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop a strategic and proactive approach to employee relations, which includes identifying trends, developing solutions, and leading training to minimize risk across the organization

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion

  • Provide strategic leadership on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts company-wide
  • Develop and oversee the execution of the Company's long-term strategy to create and maintain a best-in-class employee experience in a diverse and inclusive culture where all staff can thrive and progress personally and professionally

Company Culture Cultivator & Employee Developer

  • Foster our desired company culture through a multitude of initiatives and events
  • Set the example for your team and others in the Company by consistently demonstrating Company Values
  • Provide support and consultation across the business on the most complex issues, supporting staff, managers, and executives in all related areas, including recruitment, performance management, compensation and rewards, staff relations, and people development
  • Champion employee development in partnership with our training department to ensure employee skills are nurtured to further career growth and success
  • Spearhead development for existing and rising leadership, ensuring appropriate succession planning and effective leadership opportunity optimization

We are looking for people with:

  • 8+ years of HR Business Partner experience with expertise in corporate people management, business partnership and coaching, performance/talent management, compliance, DEI, and employee relations
  • Proven experience and/or strong desire to work in a startup environment
  • Experience developing and managing effective Human Resource strategies
  • Experience developing talent management functions such as diversity, equity, and inclusion, learning and development, succession planning, and performance management
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
  • Proactive leadership and project management guidance for People Operations initiatives and policies
  • A hands-on approach with strong creative and conceptual skills, proven track record in the management of complex issues in dynamic environments, and exhibit a strong sense of urgency in exceeding company goals and objectives
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Proficiency in technology and proclivity for adopting change
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Business, Organization Development or Human Resources preferred
