Overview:
Operates the machine for set up and operates Retail Glass/Plastic bottle lines and also Food service Gallon machines and its related equipment. Maintains the packaging machines within acceptable tolerances, maintains ongoing production while keeping raw and packaging material scrap as low as possible, and performs product changeovers. Performs minor maintenance and adjustments to the machines as needed.

Responsibilities:
Sets up machines prior to shift start up if needed including setting codes, setting packet lengths, etc. to achieve on time starts.

Ensures packaging materials are correct, in specification and properly positioned in machine and changes materials as needed.

Monitors and adjusts weight control of packaged units on both machines and ensures codes are accurate and correct in format.

Records all information as required.

Maintains and ensures product complies with company quality standards to specifications (including but not limited to: within weight control and inspects filled containers to ensure that product is according to specifications)

Maintains standard production quantities/rates for each product on machine. Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards for entire line.

Maintains company standards for cleanliness, food safety and productivity in the packaging area.

Replenishes packaging supplies such as film, boxes, cartons, glue, ink or labels.

Observes operation of machine to detect malfunctions; makes minor adjustments/repairs; communicates mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.

Assists other positions when needed.

Coordinates information and equipment with Lead, operators, and managers.

Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
1-2 Years in manufacturing, preferably food manufacturing

High School Diploma

Working Conditions/Environment:
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more. Must be able to stand for an 8-10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud. Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beardnets (if facial hair exists) and slip-resistant / steel-toed shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
